What it does
The Hot Knife is a metal loading tool with a small battery. Press the button and the tip warms in a few seconds; touch it to your concentrate and the dab slides off the tool into the chamber instead of sticking, stringing, and ending up on the rim. It charges on a magnetic USB cable and the tip is replaceable.
Why it matters more than it sounds
Concentrate on the rim of a chamber, or smeared up the side, is concentrate that burns instead of vaporizing. Over months that residue is what shortens a Peak Pro chamber's life and what makes a rig taste worse than it did new. A clean drop into the center of the chamber, every time, is the single cheapest thing you can do for how a rig tastes and how long its parts last. The Hot Knife makes that the default.
It also handles cold, hard concentrates that a cold tool chips, and it stops the small daily mess of wiping tools.
What's wrong with it
It's $50 for a dab tool. The battery is small, so it lives on its charger. And the current version's magnetic cable is proprietary; lose it and you're buying another.
Who should buy it
Anyone who owns a Peak, Peak Pro, Proxy, Pivot, or any chamber-style rig, and dabs more than occasionally. It pays for itself in one chamber that lasts longer. Torch-and-banger users get less from it, since a banger is easier to load cold.
