Why this list is mostly Puffco

Electric dab rigs existed before the Puffco Peak, but the Peak in 2018 was the first one that worked like a rig instead of a big pen, and the Peak Pro in 2020 added the pieces that made it the default: a chamber that heats from all sides, an app that lets you set exact temperatures, and glass you'd actually want on your table. Six years later the competition has mostly copied the shape. The picks below are Puffco where Puffco is best and something else where it isn't.

Puffco Peak Pro: best overall

The Peak Pro is a smart rig. The 3D chamber heats concentrate from the walls, not a coil on the bottom, and the current 3D XL chamber holds more and hits harder than the original. Four heat profiles on the device, any temperature you like in the Puffco app, a joystick carb cap for airflow, a real-time temperature readout, and a wireless charging dock so it lives on the table always ready. Sesh mode lets a group take turns without reheating.

At $419.99 it's the most expensive thing here, and the chamber is a consumable: they last months to a year depending on how you treat them, and a replacement is about $75 to $100. Budget for that. It's still the answer for anyone who dabs daily and wants the rig experience without a torch. Read the full Peak Pro review or see it at Cannabox.

Puffco Peak: best value

Puffco relaunched the original Peak in 2024 as a simpler, cheaper rig: four heat settings, sesh mode, hand-blown glass, no app, no wireless dock. What you get is most of the Peak Pro's hit for $219.99. What you lose is the fine temperature control and the ecosystem of chambers and accessories built for the Pro. If you're choosing your first e-rig and $400 is too much, this is the one. Full review · Peak at Cannabox.

Puffco Proxy: the modular one

The Proxy is the Peak's heater with no rig attached. It's a base with a chamber and a button that drops into any piece of glass built for it: Puffco's own pipe and bubbler, or the growing number of third-party Proxy glass from makers like MJ Arsenal and Empire Glassworks. If you already love a particular piece, or you want a rig that looks like a pipe on the shelf, this is the way. It is also the most portable full-power option Puffco makes. $250 for the current version. Full review · Proxy at Cannabox.

Dr. Dabber Switch GO: the non-Puffco pick

The Switch uses induction heating instead of a resistive chamber, which means it heats in seconds and handles both concentrate and dry herb with different cups. The GO is the portable version of the desktop Switch. It's fast, it's powerful, and it's the only rig at this price that isn't playing Puffco's game. The downside is size and the cost of the cups. $329.99. Switch GO at Cannabox.

Lookah Dragon Egg: best under $100

Lookah's rigs are the ones to look at when the Puffco price is the problem. The Dragon Egg is a compact e-rig with a glass top, adjustable heat, and a chamber that's cheap to replace. It doesn't taste like a Peak Pro, and it doesn't cost like one. $86.99. Dragon Egg at Cannabox.

Ooze Electro Barrel: the cheapest torchless dab

At $68 the Electro Barrel is a way to stop using a torch, not a way to get rig-quality hits. Temperature settings, a small glass piece, and coils you'll replace. If you dab occasionally and mostly want to not burn yourself, it does the job. Electro Barrel at Cannabox.

Left off

The G Pen Connect (a heater that attaches to your existing glass) and the Lookah Dinosaur were both out of stock when we checked and both worth a look when they're back. The High Five Duo is in stock but the one review we could find was poor and we haven't tested it. If what you want is a pen, not a rig, that's a different list: the best dab pens.
