Puffco Peak Pro Review (2026): Still the Rig to Beat
Six years on, the Peak Pro is still the electric rig everything else is measured against. Here is what it does well, what it costs to keep running, and who should buy something else.

What it is
The Peak Pro is Puffco's flagship electric dab rig: a battery-powered base with a ceramic chamber, a hand-blown glass top that holds water, and a phone app. You load concentrate into the chamber, press the button, and it heats to a set temperature and holds it while you draw. No torch, no timing a banger, no guessing.
The chamber is the product
What separates the Peak Pro from cheaper rigs is the 3D chamber. Instead of a coil on the floor of a cup, heating elements run up the walls, so the concentrate melts and vaporizes from every side at once. The result is an even, full hit at lower temperatures than a coil needs, which is where flavor lives. The current 3D XL chamber is a larger version of the same idea: more capacity, more vapor per hit, and it's the one the new Peak Pro ships with or that you'll upgrade to.
The chamber is also the running cost. Ceramic heaters wear; how fast depends on how hot you run it and how well you clean it. Owners report months to a year or more. A replacement 3D XL is about $100 at Cannabox, the standard 3D about $75. If that number bothers you, read the Peak review instead.
Temperature control, and what the app is for
On the device you get four heat profiles. In the Puffco Connect app you can set each of those to any temperature you like, name them, adjust how long the chamber holds heat, and watch the real-time temperature while you dab. That's the feature that matters: you find the temperature your concentrate tastes best at and it's one press from then on. The app also does the things apps do, lighting colors and firmware updates, which you'll use once.
Daily use
Heat-up is about half a minute on the lower profiles. The joystick carb cap, which is a separate purchase and should not be, lets you direct airflow across the chamber, and it makes a real difference to how completely a dab clears. Sesh mode keeps the chamber at temperature for a group. The wireless charging dock is the quiet best feature: the rig sits on it between sessions and is always charged, so you never think about the battery. Without the dock, a charge covers a full day of normal use.
Cleaning is the same as any rig plus the chamber: swab the chamber while it's warm, change the water, and give the glass an isopropyl bath weekly. Skip the chamber swab and the chamber dies early. That's the whole maintenance story.
The glass
The included glass is hand-blown and it works, but the Peak Pro has a large aftermarket of replacement glass, from Puffco's own travel glass to pieces by Empire Glassworks and MJ Arsenal, and most owners end up with a second top. It's part of why people stay in the ecosystem.
What's wrong with it
The price. $419.99 before the carb cap and the dock, and then chambers. It's also not small; it travels in its case, not a pocket. And Puffco's build quality, while good, is not Storz & Bickel-grade: buttons and chargers do fail out of warranty, and the community forums are full of people who've been through a couple of chambers.
Who should buy it
Anyone who dabs most days and wants the flavor and control of a good rig without a torch. If you dab once a week, the Peak at half the price is the smarter buy. If you already have glass you love, look at the Proxy.
